The eponymous lighthouse(s)
These are the lighthouses of the aptly-named Lighthouse Caye of Belize. It's a small island that sits off the coasts of Belize and is the closest bit of land to the Blue Hole.
If you're a diver and have been to the Blue Hole, then this is where you (most likely) had lunch. And it's fantastic. The island is a rookery (bird home) for pink-footed boobies, cormorants and more along with quite a happy collection of iguanas. The sand is white a cream, the sky a blue that is only matched by the blue of the water.
And then there is an old lighthouse and a new one. The old lighthouse leans a bit to the right, that palm tree was leaning the other way and the new lighthouse is plumb-bob straight.
What I *should* have done was CLIMBED the lighthouse. One of the pro photogs that the dive companies uses told me that. After we'd headed back.
